Rep. Claeys created a Director of Unmanned Aircraft Systems position in KDOT Aviation, and proposed a tax credit for engineers to support development of the industry in Salina.
Rep. Claeys is responsible for a Kansas Highway Patrol recruitment and retention plan that resulted in one of the largest recruiting classes in history at the KHP Training Academy in Salina.
Rep. Claeys led the effort to reform government programs by rooting out waste while looking for more efficient delivery of the programs and services we expect from our state.
Kansans For Life Endorses Rep. Claeys' Re-Election Campaign

Kansans for Life, the statewide pro-life organization, today endorsed Rep. J.R. Claeys (R-Salina) for re-election to the Kansas House of Representatives. Claeys holds a 100% pro-life voting record as Salina's Representative.

Claeys is a member of the House Federal & State Affairs Committee, where pro-life legislation is presented for hearings. He also participated in the March for Life in Washington, D.C. multiple times since 1996 and has a longstanding record of supporting the sanctity of life.

"The staff and volunteers at Kansans for Life work tirelessly to promote pro-life legislation and make a positive difference in the lives of those seeking counseling and services -- to help families choose life," said Claeys. "I appreciate their endorsement and will continue to defend a culture of life in Kansas."

Claeys is a fifth-generation Kansan, born and raised in Salina. He is a graduate of Salina Catholic Schools and Kansas State University.
