McPHERSON, KANSAS — Senator J.R. Claeys (R-Salina) was awarded the Legislative Champion of the Year Award at a meeting of the Kansas Independent College Association at Central Christian College in McPherson.
“Students who choose an education at our independent colleges in Kansas deserve a level playing field for financial resources that make college affordable and accessible,” said Claeys. “I’m honored to be awarded the legislative champion award.”
The Kansas Independent College Association develops and enhances the competitive standing of its 21 member colleges by coordinating efforts including professional development and collaboration, governmental advocacy, and public engagement collectively aimed at supporting students and their success.
